Dr. James McDonald, D.V.M.
|
Dr. James W. McDonald was born in Bronxville, New York. He is a 1985 graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). He is the Medical Director of Woodbridge Animal Hospital and professional specialties include dermatology, orthopedic surgery and critical care.
Dr. McDonald relocated to Woodbridge in 1988 and opened the emergency clinic on Jefferson Davis Highway in 1991. Due to continued growth, he moved the clinic to its current location on Caton Hill Road in June of 2001.
Dr. McDonald has three children named Ryan, Megan and Devin. He also has two dogs named Luke, a pug, and Rebel, a lab. The dogs also share the company of one cat named Logan. In his free time, Dr. McDonald enjoys golf, tennis and reading. |

Dr. Angela K Bakanas, D.V.M.

Dr. Angela Kristina Bakanas was born in Chicago, Illinois and is a 1996 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Animal Science). Her interests include soft tissue surgery and neurology. She joined the team at Woodbridge Animal Hospital in June of 2003.
Dr. Bakanas and her husband, Brian, were recently married and they have four dogs named Allegra, Jersey, Cicero and Odessa. They also have five cats named Felix, Sterling, Sprout, Mr. Magoo and Guinevere. Rounding out the household pets is also a box turtle, named Georgia, who is over 20 years old! Dr. Bakanas enjoys reading, baking, horseback riding and swimming in her free time. |

Dr. Lisa B Osier, D.V.M.

Dr. Lisa Bess Osier was born in Syracuse, New York. She graduated from Siena College in 2000 and Cornell University Veterinary School in 2004. She joined the Woodbridge Animal Hospital team in June of 2005.
Dr. Osier has one dog, Denver, and two cats, Fossey and Hazel. In her free time she enjoys exercising(running,)reading,traveling,Poker & walking her dog! Her field interests include Internal Medicine, and especially Endocrinology. |

Dr. Tanya Shackelford, D.V.M.

Dr. Tonya Wright Shackelford was born in San Antonio, Texas and is a 1995 graduate of VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She joined the Woodbridge Animal Hospital team in August of 2005 .
Dr. Shackelford and her husband have two children. In her free time, Dr. Shackelford enjoys hiking, swimming, and outdoor activities.
Oddly enough she does not have any furry pets due to son's allergies, but they do have 2 fish.
Some of Dr. Shackelfords interests in the field include: Ultrasound, Radiology, and Dermatology.

Dr. Cheryl Phillips, D.V.M. Dr. Cheryl E. Phillips was born in Fairfax, Virginia. She is a 1986 graduate of West Virginia University. She also attended the University of Georgia where she graduated in 1988 with her Masters degree and her D.V.M. in 1992.
Dr. Phillips' husband, Shawn, is a US Army officer and they have three children named Savannah, Colton and Taylor. The family pets include one cat, one english bulldog, one boxer and one standard poodle. In her free time, Dr. Phillips enjoys riding horses, running and all outdoor activities. |

Dr. Chris Haverly, D.V.M.

Dr. Chris Haverly was born in El Paso, Texas. He is a 1999 graduate of the University of Texas in Austin and a 2003 graduate of Cornell University. Dr. Haverly joined the Woodbridge Animal Hospital team in August of 2003 and has a particular interest in surgery, as well as emergency and critical care.
Dr. Haverly is married. He and his wife have an Akita, two cats, and fish. In his free time, Dr. Haverly enjoys hiking, kayaking, skiing and travel. |

Dr. Kara Moore D.V.M No Biographical Data Is Currently Available
Dr. Natalia Sardanovski D.V.M Dr. Sardanovski is a recent addition to our hospital here as of 2008. She graduated from the Peoples Friendship University of Russia in 1999. She worked as a Vet there in the Moscow region until 2003.
Natalia moved to the U.S. in 2004 where she started her graduate studies with the ECFVG (Educational Commission for Foreign Vet. Graduates.) While doing so she worked as a technician in a small animal practice from 04-06' in WI. She volunteered with large animals (Horses, Cows.)
From April 06-07' (1 year of clinical evaluation) as part of her ECFVG (Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates.) She graduated in Madison WI. From June 07- July 08' had an internship in emergency and critical care at New England medical center in MA. Starting in August 2008 she joined our team here at Woodbridge Animal Hospital as an ER Vet and associate.
Dr. Sardanovski has no pets of her own just yet; but is hoping to fall in love with a stray or rescue that she may encounter working in the hospital. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, and movies.
Her field speciality is working in critical care and emergency medicine.

Genevieve C Henderson , Hospital Administrator Genevieve Henderson was born in Concord, Massachusettes. She attended the University of Massachusettes-Boston and has a special interest in customer relations. Genevieve joined the Woodbridge Animal Hospital team in December of 2006 and currently serves as the Hospital Administrator.
Genevieve has a husband, Sandy, and three sons. In her free time, she enjoys reading, antiquing and furniture refinishing. |

Technician
Marla Hunston LVT , Head Technician/Manager
Marla has worked in the field since 1992. She received her AAS (Associates in Applied Science Degree) in Veterinary Technology from NVCC in 1998 (therefore been licensed to practice in the state of VA since then). She has a son named Jacob, and a family of pets including..... 3 dogs, Lollipop, Patsy Kline, and Benji. Three cats, Don King, Sugar Magnolia, and Midge.

Jaime Clark , Web Manager/Evening Supervisor & Co-department Head
Jaime started with the practice in July of 2003. Coming from experience in the field prior, working as a Technician. She joined on to our Reception team to better serve her peers, clients, and the patients. Jaime is a Northern Va. native growing up in Springfield and later moving to the Stafford area after getting married in 2003. Graduate of West Springfield HS 96' and is currently working on her college degree in Linguistics/Business. Jaime has no children yet but has 4 furry ones who she and her husband adore.... Pepper, Missy (2 dogs) & Bilbo, Ole' Puss (cats.) Jaime also is a member of the Virginia German Shepherd Rescue and has a fond connection to the breed. She also has a passion for K9 behavior/training as well. With her free time, she enjoys spending it with family, friends, and planning to travel. She also enjoys reading, fishing, movies, and watching OSU football GO BUCKEYES!
